We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for a Payroll Specialist in Colorado Springs, Colorado. The role primarily involves managing payroll records and handling administrative tasks related to employee benefits. As a part of the team, the Payroll Specialist will be involved in processing payroll, maintaining accurate records, and resolving discrepancies.

Responsibilities :

• Handling and ensuring the accuracy of payroll processing and associated tasks
• Collecting, reviewing, and entering data into the payroll system
• Updating payroll records and making routine modifications to employee information
• Conducting reconciliation and basic auditing during pay cycles to ensure accuracy
• Addressing payroll-related inquiries from employees and resolving discrepancies
• Identifying and correcting errors or omissions in payroll transactions
• Preparing and submitting forms or reports required by regulatory agencies, including employment and income verification requests
• Assisting with onboarding during New Employee Orientation sessions
• Supporting the Benefits Manager with monthly reconciliation reports and assisting employees with enrollment and benefit-related issues
• Acting as the primary point of contact for employees regarding troubleshooting in payroll software
• Adhering to all payroll processing policies and procedures while maintaining confidentiality
• Participating in detail oriented development workshops, expanding industry knowledge through networking, and engaging with detail oriented organizations.
• Minimum of 3 years experience as a Payroll Specialist or similar role
• Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems
• Demonstrated knowledge of Accounting Functions
• Experience with Benefit Functions
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Experience in Benefits Administration
• Excellent Customer Service skills
• Strong Internal Communications skills
• Experience conducting New Employee Orientation
