Overview
WHO are we looking for?
CAPTRUST is seeking a Senior Payroll Associate who will be responsible for all payroll functions. Excellent organizational skills with an eye for accuracy are important qualifications for this position, as well as the ability to thrive in a changing work environment. The ideal candidate for this position has deep analytical skills, the ability to handle high workload times, is reliable and is committed to always meeting deadlines. Primary responsibilities may include the following, among others :
Responsibilities
- Process, review and balance semi-monthly payroll
- Submit payrolls for salaried, hourly, and variable compensation employees
- Ensure payroll transactions are processed correctly for time, earnings, benefits, deductions, tax withholdings, garnishments, and other key payroll items
- Maintain accurate records of payroll documentation and transactions
- Enter data into payroll and administrative databases and software programs
- Perform basic accounting entries of payroll related activity
- Respond timely and effectively to payroll-related inquiries
- Investigate and resolve payroll issues and ensure compliance with company and regulatory standards
- Analyze payroll procedures and recommend changes leading to best practices
- Handle payroll compliance matters such as multi-state / multi-jurisdiction tax withholding and garnishments
- Ensure completion of annual payroll related tax filings and tax amendments
- Dive into new roles and responsibilities
- Provide support / back-up for ongoing headcount processing and tracking
- Collaborate with other members of the Finance team to complete special projects as assigned.
