Payroll Specialist
IronRoad is conducting a confidential search for a Payroll Specialist for our Cincinnati, Ohio client. We are looking for a talented, driven Payroll Specialist. The ideal candidate will work closely with internal team members to handle day-to-day Payroll functions necessary to support a fast-paced company. Payroll Specialist ensures accurate and timely processing of payroll updates including new hires, terminations, and changes to pay rates. Prepares and maintains accurate records and reports of payroll transactions. Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices.
Duties / Responsibilities :
- Implements, maintains, and reviews payroll processing and accounting systems to ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions including salaries, benefits, garnishments, taxes, and other deductions.
- Ensures accurate and timely processing of payroll updates including new hires, terminations, and changes to pay rates.
- Prepares and maintains accurate records and reports of payroll transactions.
- Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices.
- Facilitates audits by providing records and documentation to auditors.
- Identifies and recommends updates to payroll accounting software, systems, and procedures.
- Maintains up-to-date knowledge of city, state, provincial, local, and federal legislation affecting payroll; understands and follows applicable provisions.
- Prepares required tax filings and other reporting.
- Maintains a favorable working relationship with all fellow employees to foster, aid and promote a cooperative and harmonious working climate which will be conducive to maximum employee morale, productivity, and efficiency / effectiveness.
