Job descriptionEnsure timely and accurate payroll processing for all employees, including tracking hours worked, managing deductions, and verifying payroll changes. Analyze payroll data to ensure accuracy, identify trends, and generate detailed reports for management, including overtime, paid time off (PTO), and wage discrepancies. Ensure payroll compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws, including taxes, withholdings, and deductions. Stay updated on changing regulations that impact payroll. Maintain and improve payroll systems and processes and troubleshoot any system-related issues that arise. Collaborate with HR and IT to enhance payroll software efficiency. Review and manage certified payroll reports for public and private projects, ensuring they align with prevailing wage and other regulatory requirements. Conduct regular payroll audits to ensure accuracy and identify discrepancies. Reconcile payroll accounts and resolve any issues related to salary, benefits, or deductions. Serve as the point of contact for employee payroll inquiries, resolving issues promptly and maintaining a high level of customer service. Recommend and implement process improvements to enhance payroll accuracy, efficiency, and compliance. Perform other duties as assigned. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field preferred. Minimum of 3 years of payroll experience, preferably in a construction industry. Strong understanding of payroll laws, tax regulations, and compliance. Experience with payroll software and systems (e.g., ADP, QuickBooks, NetSuite) and proficiency in Microsoft Excel. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail. Ability to manage confidential information with discretion and integrity. Strong organizational and time management skills to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
