Role SummaryWe are looking for an experienced Corporate Accounting Manager to oversee payroll and benefits accounting across multiple entities and jurisdictions. This critical role ensures accurate and timely accounting of compensation-related expenses, supports external reporting requirements, and leads process improvements in a dynamic and collaborative environment. The ideal candidate will bring deep accounting expertise, leadership skills, and experience in a public company or multinational setting.Why This Role Matters : Own Compensation Accounting : Manage accounting and reconciliation of payroll, benefits, and related expenses across complex business structures.Strengthen Financial Accuracy : Ensure compliance with GAAP, SEC requirements, and SOX controls in all payroll-related accounting activities.Partner Across Teams : Collaborate with HR, Payroll, Finance, and Tax to enhance reporting accuracy and resolve discrepancies.Lead & Improve Processes : Drive automation, implement best practices, and support reporting enhancements.Mentor and Lead Talent : Manage and develop team members focused on payroll and benefits accounting. ResponsibilitiesOversee the accounting and reconciliation of payroll, benefits, and compensation-related expenses.Ensure GAAP and SOX compliance, including SEC reporting requirements for payroll-related disclosures.Partner with HR, payroll operations, finance, and tax to improve end-to-end payroll processes.Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes related to payroll and benefits, including journal entries and accruals.Analyze payroll-related expenses and provide insights to leadership.Support external audits and financial reporting activities.Lead and implement process improvements and system enhancements.Maintain strong internal controls and ensure adherence to company policies.Supervise and mentor accounting team members supporting payroll and benefits functions. QualificationsRequired Qualifications : Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.CPA or CPP License. Experience in payroll and benefits accounting, preferably in a public company or multinational environment.2+ years of management or supervisory experience.Strong knowledge of US GAAP (ASC 710, ASC 715, ASC 718), SOX compliance, and payroll accounting standards.Proficient with ERP systems (SAP preferred) and payroll platforms such as ADP or Workday.High attention to detail and strong analytical skills.Excellent communication skills with the ability to work cross-functionally.Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.Preferred Qualifications : Demonstrated experience accounting for stock-based compensation (ASC 718), including journal entries, expense forecasting, and financial statement disclosures.Background in the hyper-growth technology, manufacturing, or automotive industry.
