We are offering an exciting opportunity in the Agriculture sector in Kansas City, Kansas, United States. We are seeking an experienced Payroll Manager to join our dynamic team. As a Payroll Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth running of the payroll department, providing leadership to the payroll team and managing day-to-day operations to ensure compliance with all relevant statutory regulations.

Responsibilities :

• Oversee comprehensive payroll processes, including processing, garnishments, bonuses, unemployment, tax compliance across multiple states, and reporting.
• Work diligently to ensure the accurate and timely calculation and distribution of employee wages, salaries, and other compensations.
• Stay informed about federal and state wage taxation, payroll laws and regulations, including tax withholding, wage and hour laws, and state-specific requirements.
• Act as the primary point of contact for employee payroll inquiries and work towards resolving issues or discrepancies.
• Identify and implement opportunities for process enhancements and automation in payroll procedures.
• Collaborate with the HRIS department for necessary system enhancements and integrations.
• Safeguard accurate payroll records, ensuring compliance with record-keeping requirements.
• Conduct regular audits and analysis of payroll data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
• Establish and uphold strong internal controls to prevent fraud or errors in payroll processing.
• Generate and distribute various payroll reports to management and other departments as necessary.
• Foster a collaborative and high-performance culture within the payroll team through regular team meetings, goal setting and performance evaluation.
• Coordinate with payroll service providers, third-party vendors, and external consultants as necessary.
• Must possess a minimum of 5 years of experience in the role of a Payroll Manager.
• Proficiency in managing Multistate Payroll is obligatory.
• Proven experience in handling Payroll for over 500 Employees is necessary.
• A comprehensive understanding of the Agriculture industry is a prerequisite.
• Candidates must have strong communication and leadership skills.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, is required.
• Must have a strong understanding of payroll tax laws and regulations.
• Previous experience with payroll software and systems is mandatory.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise extreme discretion is essential.
• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills are needed.
• Candidates must demonstrate exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks and meet all deadlines is mandatory.
• Knowledge of human resources management practices and principles is beneficial.
• A Bachelor's degree in finance, business administration, or a related field is preferred.
