GARNEY CONSTRUCTION

As a Payroll Manager in N. Kansas City MO you will be a key member of our Financial Services team playing a critical role in maintaining accurate payroll processing general ledger accounting for the payroll process managing tax filings and supporting strategic initiatives across the organization. This role requires a deep understanding of payroll tax and compliance and offers the opportunity to drive process improvements and collaborate across departments.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

• Assist in overseeing the end-to-end payroll process for multiple entities and jurisdictions.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable payroll laws regulations and internal policies.
• Manage multi-state payroll tax reporting filings and reconciliations including quarterly and annual returns and W-2 filing.
• Collaborate with HR Finance and Accounting Project teams and external vendors to ensure accurate employee data and timely processing.
• Analyze labor costs and variance analysis
• Oversee union payroll reporting fringe benefit submissions and prevailing wage compliance reporting
• Lead audits and respond to inquiries from regulatory agencies.
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance payroll efficiency and accuracy.
• Maintain and update payroll systems ensuring data integrity and security.
• Supervise and support Payroll Coordinators fostering collaboration and professional development.
