Description
The Aflac Cancer and Blood Disorders Center, Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta and Emory University Department of Pediatrics, invite applications for faculty hospitalist positions to provide care for hospitalized children in pediatric Blood and Marrow Transplantation. Responsibilities will include overnight inpatient care. Qualified candidates should be Board Certified / Eligible in Pediatrics, Hematologist / Oncologists, and preference will be given to applicants who are board certified / eligible in pediatric hematology / oncology. This is a clinical position with a rank of assistant or associate professor depending on experience and accomplishments.
Clinical Responsibilities :
- Provide outstanding clinical care to patients undergoing BMT and cellular therapy. The individual will be the first call on the ward for these patients at night, and is expected to function independently but with back up from the appropriate fellow or attending.
- Clinical service time includes weeknight, weekend night, and holiday in-house shifts. Additionally, assistance with general hematology and oncology, and some weekday responsibilities may be required as necessary to meet the needs of the division.
- Participate in and incorporates Quality Improvement and research findings into practice.
- Provide and / or serve as a resource for patient / family and staff education.
- Provide patient care within the respective clinical area which complies with the Professional Staff Bylaws, rules and regulations and Children’s policies and procedures.
- Complete necessary documentation and ensure communication to facilitate patient care and appropriate reimbursement.
- Participate in meetings / activities as required to support operations of the clinical area.
- Participate in activities that enhance professional development, complete and maintain certification in BLS and PALS and maintain any additional specialty training / certifications as required by the area assigned.
- Perform other responsibilities as required.
Successful candidates will have :
Salary and rank of Assistant Professor at Emory University School of Medicine will be commensurate with experience and accomplishment.
