MRI Technologist Job Description Job Title MRI Technologist Job Summary We are seeking a skilled and dedicated MRI Technologist for a 13-week contract assignment in Rochester, New York. This role involves performing high-quality Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) examinations on patients, ensuring optimal image acquisition and patient safety. The successful candidate will work within a dynamic healthcare environment, providing essential diagnostic imaging services. This position requires a professional who can effectively operate MRI equipment, maintain patient comfort, and collaborate with healthcare teams to support accurate diagnoses. Key Responsibilities Perform a variety of MRI procedures on patients of all ages, ensuring adherence to established protocols and safety standards. Prepare patients for MRI examinations, including explaining procedures, screening for contraindications, and ensuring patient comfort and safety. Operate and maintain MRI equipment, ensuring proper functionality and troubleshooting minor issues as needed. Acquire and process high-quality diagnostic images, evaluating image quality and making necessary adjustments. Monitor patients during scans, responding to any changes in condition or discomfort. Maintain accurate patient records and documentation of procedures performed. Adhere to all radiation safety guidelines and institutional policies. Required Qualifications Graduation from an accredited Radiologic Technology program. Current ARRT (MR) certification. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Minimum of 1-2 years of experience as an MRI Technologist. Preferred Qualifications Not specified. Skills & Competencies Proficiency in operating various MRI scanners and related equipment. Strong understanding of MRI physics, cross-sectional anatomy, and imaging protocols. Excellent patient care and communication skills, with the ability to explain complex procedures clearly.
