Lehigh Valley Imaging is hiring for a PT PET Technologist. The hours for this position are 8 : 30 am to 5 : 00 pm variable days, two days per week.
The PET Technologist performs various PET scan procedures at Lehigh Valley Imaging (LVI). The PET Technologist must act in a professional and courteous manner at all times while interacting with physicians, management, co-workers, office staff, patients and their family members.
Job Duties and Responsibilities :
- Basic computer skills required. Epic experience a plus.
- Performs PET procedures as requested by referring physicians in accordance with proper operational protocols. Communicates clinical observations during examination to radiologist.
- Operates computer PET scanner for data acquisition, reconstruction of images, documentation of images and performs quality control to ensure optimal quality of images.
- Starts IV lines and tests blood sugar levels, injects radiopharmaceuticals dependent upon specific scan.
- Ability to work in a hot lab during performing the following functions : assaying radioactive doses using dose calibrator; tracking and checking in radioactive doses using digital information management systems; quality control of all hot lab equipment; wipe tests; radioactive waste storage and removal.
- Adheres to all DEP and NRC Regulations.
- Educates patients on information related to their specific scan.
The candidate must provide excellent customer service, operate with a high level of confidentiality and accuracy.
Training and Education :
Education : Graduate from approved School of Radiology, ARRT (N) or NMTCB registered, CPR certification.
Experience : One year staff technologist experience, Nuclear Medicine / PET experience preferred.
