Hartford HealthCare's Pharmacy System has grown to include 8 inpatient pharmacies, 6 cancer center infusion pharmacies, 3 retail pharmacies, and our Ambulatory Care pharmacy department supporting more than 50 medical office practices. Collaboration between our numerous pharmacy services and other members of the health care team is key to our commitment to continually improving how we provide patient care. The Pharmacy Department at St. Vincent's Medical Center utilizes a decentralized model with pharmacists embedded on medical teams to provide advice on optimal drug therapy. We also have an American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) accredited Pharmacy Residency program, an active Oncology infusion service, and a Retail / Specialty outpatient pharmacy. Pharmacists assure the appropriate selection, dosing, administering, and dispensing of medication orders.
