We are seeking an experienced Inpatient Pharmacistto join a dynamic team in Northwestern Boston, MA. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced, high-impact environment known for its challenging yet rewarding nature.
Position Details :
Duration : 26 weeks with the potential to extend or convert to permanent.
Shift : Evening shifts, 2 : 00 PM - 10 : 30 PM, with weekends as needed.
Start Date : Immediate openings available.
Responsibilities :
Medication Verification : Review and verify all medication orders for accuracy, appropriateness, and potential drug interactions.
IV Preparation and Oversight : Prepare and verify intravenous medications, ensuring adherence to sterile compounding practices. Candidates with hands-on IV preparation experience are strongly preferred.
Clinical Rounding : Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals during clinical rounds to provide drug therapy recommendations and optimize patient outcomes.
Inventory Management : Ensure proper stock levels of medications and supplies, working closely with the pharmacy team to avoid shortages or overstocking.
Supervising Technicians : Oversee the work of pharmacy technicians, ensuring that all tasks are completed accurately and efficiently.
Patient Safety and Compliance : Maintain strict adherence to hospital protocols, regulatory requirements, and best practices for medication safety.
Troubleshooting : Address medication-related issues promptly and effectively, including resolving any discrepancies or questions from staff or providers.
Technology Utilization : Utilize EPIC EMR for documentation and patient records, and manage medication dispensing through Pyxis ES Cabinets .
Requirements : PharmD required.
Active pharmacist license.
Minimum of 1+ years of inpatient pharmacy experience.
Familiarity with EPIC EMR and Pyxis ES Cabinets is a plus.
