Travel Pharmacist (4x10 Schedule)
Location - Houston, TX
Job Type : Travel Contract
Shift : 10-Hour Shifts | 4 Days per Week (4x10)
Guaranteed Hours : 40 per Week
Contract Length : 13 Weeks
Pay - $70 - $80 hourly
Job Summary
The Pharmacist promotes high-quality pharmaceutical care by managing the medication-use process, identifying and preventing potential drug-related problems, and resolving existing medication issues. This role requires safe, accurate, and timely medication review, order entry, preparation, and dispensing across patient populations from pediatric to adult.
All responsibilities are performed in a manner appropriate to the developmental ages of patients served (newborn through adult).
Key Responsibilities
Review medication orders to ensure appropriate dosing based on diagnosis, weight / body surface area, allergies, and potential drug interactions
Accurately enter medication orders into the computer system
Ensure correct medications are dispensed and delivered according to established guidelines
Monitor order processing and medication delivery timelines
Prepare sterile products using proper aseptic technique and infection control standards
Ensure pharmacy technicians and staff follow aseptic technique and infection control practices
Maintain compliance with medication safety standards, minimizing dispensing errors and incidents
Complete annual aseptic technique and infection control recertification with a minimum passing score of 90%
Required Skills
Strong clinical judgment and attention to detail
Knowledge of medication safety and error prevention
Proficiency in computerized medication order entry
Sterile compounding and aseptic technique expertise
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced clinical environment
Education & Licensure Requirements
Required : Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy or PharmD
Required : Active, unrestricted Pharmacist (RPH) license in the state of Texas
Must be legally authorized to perform clinical pharmacy activities
