About our Philanthropy Officer position

The Philanthropy Officer, Idaho plays a pivotal role in securing essential funding for Planned Parenthood Great Northwest, Hawai'i, Alaska, Indiana, Kentucky (PPGNHAIK) by developing and nurturing relationships with major donors and prospects. This position is responsible for cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding donations to support PPGNHAIK's mission and programs, and our sister organization Planned Parenthood Alliance Advocates (C4).

What will you be doing!

Manage and Grow a Donor Portfolio : Oversee a portfolio of 100-150 managed donors, with giving levels typically ranging from $1,000 - $10,000. Build personalized cultivation plans for each donor, ensuring consistent and meaningful communication to strengthen relationships and encourage philanthropy.

Gift Solicitation and Stewardship : Develop and implement tailored strategies to solicit gifts and express gratitude in creative and impactful ways. Ensure donors feel valued, informed, and engaged with PPGNHAIK's mission and impact.

Collaborative Prospect Identification : Work closely with the Annual Giving Programs Officer and Planned Giving Officer to identify new major donor prospects and build a sustainable pipeline for major and legacy gifts.

Fundraising Events and Engagement : Play an active role in organizing and participating in fundraising events, community engagement activities, and third-party fundraising events. Ensure PPGNHAIK's presence is impactful and fosters a sense of community and connection.

Leadership and Strategy for State-Based Cohorts : Take an active role in PPGNHAIK's state-based cohort - a team of volunteers and staff working together to support local fundraising efforts and community engagement.

External Representation and Advocacy : Represent PPGNHAIK at external events and meetings when appropriate, acting as an ambassador for the organization. Stay informed on current local and national issues related to PPGNHAIK's mission to speak knowledgeably on behalf of the organization.

Data and Progress Tracking : Maintain accurate records of donor interactions and progress toward goals in the department's database. Monitor and report on key performance metrics in alignment with team standards.

Collaboration with Team Members : Collaborate with internal teams, including the Annual Giving Programs Officer and Planned Giving Officer, to identify and engage new managed donors and legacy gift prospects.

Continuous Learning : Participate in relevant training and meetings to enhance job knowledge and stay informed about trends in philanthropy, major giving, and nonprofit fundraising.

Additional Responsibilities :

Other duties as assigned to support the growth and success of PPGNHAIK's fundraising initiatives.

Minimum Qualifications :

Associates degree or higher preferred.

2-3 years' experience working as a frontline, major gifts fundraiser (including some major donor cultivation and solicitation) in a professional nonprofit fundraising environment.

Experience driving a metrics-based approach to fundraising.

Preferred Qualifications :

Strong relationship building skills and entrepreneurial drive.

Strong interpersonal, written and personal communication skills; ability to collaborate effectively with culturally diverse staff across departments and throughout the organization.

Ability to utilize fundraising databases; Raiser's Edge experience preferred.

Ability to assess priorities and manage a variety of competing tasks in a time-sensitive environment and to meet deadlines with attention to detail and quality.

Ability to travel within the state and occasional travel to other states required

Ability to work occasional nights and weekends

CFRE or equivalent credentials a plus.

Salary Range : 66,440 - $123,388

Position Type : Full-time
