Phlebotomist Jobs in Houston, TX

This position is in support of the John Hopkins research team. This is a worldwide rapid deployment team that will support John Hopkins research efforts on behalf of the US Department of State.The Phlebotomist will be available to deploy worldwide within 72 hours of notification. The Phlebotomist will be responsible for the safe and timely draw of specimens from individuals designated by the research team.

The phlebotomist will be responsible for proper collection of specimens labelling and packaging. The phlebotomist will work closely with the team leadership to coordinate all these functions onsite when required.

Key Responsibilities :

• Travels with team internationally within 72 hours of notification.
• Obtains blood specimens and collects nonblood specimens such as urine sputum and throat swabs for laboratory testing.
• Preform Centrifuge for specimen samples.
• Performs screening tests and reports results. Processes specimens to prepare them for laboratory testing.
• Prepares specimens for reference laboratory dispatch and testing.
• Packages specimen for shipment IAW protocol.
• Maintains all supplies and equipment through travel.
• Submits travel vouchers within 5 days of return.
• Other duties as assigned

Compensation  Min : $21hr        Max : $38hr

Pay range is based on several factors and may vary in addition to a full range of medical financial and / or other benefits. Final salary and offer will be determined by the applicants background experience skills internal equity and alignment with geographical market data.
