Virtual Phlebotomy / Bio Collection Training Instructor

Full-Time Position with a Full Benefits Package

Remote : Work from Home

Job Description :

Your role will be to support CGS’ mission to manage and deliver the Bio Collections New Hire Training Curriculum for new hires at the American Red Cross. Your work will be largely virtual supporting trainees from across the country. Some travel may be required.

Your duties will include :

  • Organizing, planning, preparing, and delivering training for newly hired staff.
  • Using virtual web meeting tools, instant messaging, e-mail, and forums for delivering training and supporting Trainees.
  • Using a library of digital assets to deliver key learning to Trainees for both primary and remedial learning.
  • Supporting the continual improvement and maintenance of the training curriculum and related documentation based on American Red Cross standards, industry and regulatory updates, and CGS requirements.
  • Coordinating and collaborating with other CGS resources in the delivery and support of the training.
  • Implements, operates, designs, administers and / or documents technical training programs, practices and procedures, ensuring continuous improvement
  • Assisting with the establishment of goals and objectives for the training.
  • Conducting assessments of training activities, employee progress and course and trainer effectiveness as applicable.
  • Supporting the development of criteria for evaluating effectiveness and conducting training needs assessments.
  • Developing courses and tests using a variety of instructional strategies and applications as applicable.
  • Coordinating with On-The-Job Instructors in the management of Trainees learning journey.
  • Performing competency assessments as needed to ensure compliance with regulations and the needs of the American Red Cross Blood Services.
  • Maintaining competency to perform all activities in assigned functional area as applicable.

Qualifications :

A successful candidate will be a self-starter and a continual learner who enjoys working in a collaborative environment. They will be comfortable working directly with trainees, OJIs, Red Cross stakeholders, and the CGS team.

The successful candidate will have the following qualifications :

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and related experience required.
  • Minimum 3 years of related technical experience required or in assigned functional area to include fully successful completion of most recent competency assessment, if applicable.
  • Skills and Abilities :

  • Experience and education in instructional design or education would be an asset.
  • Experience in designing or supporting elearning would be an asset
  • Ability to work independently, remotely, and in a virtual environment
  • Experience in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience in scheduling and managing training schedules
  • Ability to work on a team.
  • Comfort with technology including software and hardware including PCs, tablets, smartphones
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven ability to present information to groups of various sizes.
