Physical Security Engineer

At Equinix, our security systems and technology are supported by Physical Security Engineers. Physical Security Engineers act in two primary functions : technical support, and professional services. They are primarily responsible for managing daily support operations, troubleshooting, preventative maintenance, and project tasks associated with Equinix physical security.

A day in the life :

Physical Security Engineers receive support requests from Equinix through various channels, including phone calls, emails, internal ticketing systems, and chat messages. Support requests are submitted by internal and external customers. The Physical Security Engineers are required to log all requests through tracking and auditing. Physical Security Engineers have direct access to all access control and video management machines globally, allowing for immediate troubleshooting of issues. Physical Security Engineers also innovate and work on special projects to further advance the physical security technology space.

While some company training is provided, we are looking for individuals who are familiar with the physical security technology space and have experience in this field.

• Panel firmware updates (remote)
• General troubleshooting
• Performing system health checks
• Miscellaneous Program Support
• New Product Testing
• Root Cause Analysis
• Project support
• Software Installation
• Software Configuration Support for Integrators
• Weekly Administrative Support
• Maintain an internal weekly diary detailing high level daily activities
• Provide detailed reports on the tickets and projects they have managed throughout the week
• Presenting weekly, monthly, quarterly business reviews to leadership
