Job Description
Position Summary :
The Director of PT has the responsibility for overall direction, utilization, supervision, instruction, and evaluation of professional and supportive staff, volunteer and students utilized in the PT department. Also, he / she is responsible for the development, implementation and monitoring of all patient care programs, plans for providing care, performance improvement programs, polices and procedures, maintaining adequate qualified and competent personnel, adequate space and equipment to ensure a high degree of quality patient care. The director will also ensure effective integration of the facility and operations plan that compliment the organization’s plans for continuous performance improvement and the delivery of quality patient care.
Position Responsibilities / Standards :
General
- Attend department, clinic or company meetings as required
- Demonstrate sound judgment by taking appropriate actions regarding questionable findings or concerns
- Consistently work in a positive and cooperative manner with fellow staff members.
- Consistently demonstrate ability to respond to changing situations in a flexible manner in order to meet current needs, such as reprioritizing work as necessary.
- Attend required annual in-service programs.
- Adheres to established facility safety requirements and procedures to ensure a safe working environment. Identifies potentially unsafe situations and notifies supervisor.

Education / Experience Required :
Supervising responsibility :
Responsible for making recommendations and / or decisions for hiring, corrective
actions, terminations and performance evaluations.
Physical Requirements :
Physical requirements for the position include the ability to frequently hear and communicate orally, see up close and at a distance, read and comprehend, stand, sit, walk, reach, handle, and / or feel objects. Must be able to climb, pull, push and kneel. Ability to demonstrate exercises properly without limitations. Maximum unassisted lift = 50 lbs. Average lift 25-50 lbs.
