Job Description

The University of Nevada, Las Vegas invites applications for an Assistant Professor of Atomic, Department of Physics and Astronomy, College of Sciences [R0144370] .

ROLE of the POSITION

The successful tenure-track faculty candidate will be expected to engage in independently funded research characterized by creativity and vision in the areas of experimental Atomic, Molecular and Optical (AMO) physics (including but not limited to quantum computation, quantum sensing, quantum optics, precision measurements, novel spectroscopy methods), and will have a strong commitment to excellence in graduate and undergraduate teaching.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

This position requires a Ph.D. or equivalent degree in Physics or closely related disciplines from an accredited college or university as recognized by the United States Department of Education and / or the Council on Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) . Credentials must be obtained prior to the start date.
