Job description

Table welder/Press brake operator - up to $23/hr HIRING IMMEDIATELY

This role focuses on operating laser cutting and metal fabrication equipment to produce high‑quality metal components in a fast‑paced machine shop. You will work from engineering drawings and fabrication plans to cut, form, drill, and inspect metal parts while supporting overall production flow and collaborating closely with fabrication and welding teams.

Responsibilities

  • Operate laser cutting machines to produce precision‑cut metal components according to engineering drawings and production specifications.
  • Set up, program, and monitor laser equipment to ensure clean cuts, proper tolerances, and consistent part quality.
  • Operate press machines and press brakes to bend, form, and shape metal parts, verifying angles, dimensions, and alignment using appropriate measuring tools.
  • Operate drill presses to drill, tap, countersink, and machine holes in metal components as required by the job specifications.
  • Perform routine machine maintenance, including cleaning, lubrication, and basic troubleshooting, to keep equipment running efficiently and minimize downtime.
  • Inspect finished parts using calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other precision measuring tools to ensure compliance with quality standards and customer specifications.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and fabrication drawings to complete jobs accurately, efficiently, and on schedule.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area while following all shop safety procedures and required personal protective equipment (PPE) guidelines.
  • Collaborate with fabrication and welding teams to support production flow and meet daily manufacturing and output goals.
  • Demonstrate strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in a fast‑paced machine shop environment.

Essential Skills

  • Proven experience operating laser cutting machines to produce precision‑cut metal components.
  • Ability to set up, program, and monitor CNC or laser equipment while maintaining proper tolerances and part quality.
  • Hands‑on experience operating press machines and press brakes to bend, form, and shape metal parts.
  • Proficiency operating drill presses to drill, tap, countersink, and machine holes in metal components.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and familiarity with fabrication processes in a machine shop or fabrication environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and fabrication drawings accurately.
  • Skilled in using precision measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges to verify part dimensions and quality.
  • Capability to perform routine machine maintenance, including cleaning, lubrication, and basic troubleshooting.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and commitment to producing high‑quality work.
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently in a fast‑paced fabrication and welding shop.
  • Comfort working with flux core processes and stainless steel materials.
  • Ability to use tape measures and other basic measurement tools accurately.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with CNC equipment and press brake operation in a fabrication or welding shop.
  • Experience in general metal fabrication, including cutting, forming, and drilling operations.
  • Willingness to cross‑train on different machines and learn new processes as needed.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills to collaborate effectively with fabrication and welding teams.
  • Reliability in meeting production schedules and daily manufacturing goals.

Why Work Here?

You will join a supportive team that values growth, development, and collaboration. Leaders actively help train employees, ensure they are placed in roles where they can succeed, and encourage cross‑training on different machines to broaden skills and experience. The environment promotes learning, flexibility, and continuous improvement, with regular opportunities for overtime each week for those who want to increase their earnings.

Work Environment

This position is based in a non‑climate‑controlled fabrication and welding shop, where you will work around laser cutting machines, press brakes, drill presses, and other metal fabrication equipment. The shop operates multiple shifts, including a first shift from 6:00 AM to 3:30 PM and a second shift from 4:00 PM to 12:30 AM. You will follow established safety procedures and use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) while working in a hands‑on, production‑oriented environment.
