The Role - What’s the job?
As a plant engineer, you'll plan, schedule, and oversee projects for facility maintenance, business growth, and productivity enhancement. Ensure compliance with environmental regulations for capital investment and manage projects for productivity and cost improvement.
Interact closely with all levels in the corporation including but not limited to Departments within Portland, the Plant Controller, Purchasing as well as Corporate Engineers, in addition to vendors, contractors and a wide range of governmental agencies.
Promote safety through adherence to CertainTeed Health and Safety Rules, proactive hazard reporting, proper PPE usage, and maintaining a clean work environment. Participate in safety training, committee meetings, and collaborate with maintenance and operators for a safer production line.
Utilize problem-solving methods to aid Production and Maintenance in troubleshooting.
Adapts well to change, shifts direction confidently, and handles risks with ease.
Consistently surpasses goals, ranks among top performers, driven by results, and relentlessly strives for success.
Contributes to product and process improvement for customer satisfaction and CertainTeed's profitability. Seeks new tasks when current ones are done, and provides suggestions for enhancing quality, processes, safety, and profitability.
40 hours per week, Monday - Friday.
Requirements - What do you bring?
Five years of journey-level engineer experience; or a four-year engineering degree plus two years of experience; or an equivalent mix of education and experience yielding comparable skills and knowledge.
Ability to work from different squatting, kneeling, or bending positions.
Ability to be hands-on in a plant setting.
AutoCAD, SAP, Minitab, Power Bi, or similar systems.
10% travel.
Certain states require pay information be provided in job postings. The national pay range for this position is $79,500 to $123,400 per year, however, the base pay offered may vary depending on geographic region, internal equity, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.
In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for an annual bonus. The targeted bonus amount is 10% of base salary based on company and individual performance measures. The total target cash range (base pay and annual bonus) for this position, is $87,450 to $135,740
