Job Summary
This position is located at the Monroe Power Plant - FGD lab. They are responsible for taking and preparing samples for analysis, recording data, and performing routine tests and studies. Prepares reagents and standards for chemical analyses and conducts routine environmental testing. This may include various wet chemistry techniques such as extractions, dilutions, hot plate and microwave digestions, pipetting, along with the preparation and cleaning of glassware and work areas. Typical assignments are in the form of problem-solving and technical support for the optimum operation and maintenance of company assets. Performs a variety of technical work requiring application of scientific principles, techniques, and procedures.
Key Accountabilities
Performs calibration of laboratory equipment.
Follows standard work instructions for technical tasks.
Takes and prepares samples for analysis.
Actively participates in process improvement and safety efforts.
Uses Laboratory Information Management System (LIMs) for sample login and data entry.
Maintains accurate and complete lab data notebook, communicates precise and accurate results of analyses in accordance with prescribed lab procedures and systems.
Performs monitoring and testing of system performance by data collection or laboratory testing.
Minimum Education & Experience Requirements
- Bachelors degree.
- Individuals who will be obtaining their degree within nine months from submitting interest will be considered; however, verification of the degree will be required prior to starting the job.
