Dewberrys Raleigh, NC office includes over 200 design professionals, including a large Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, and Structural (MEPS) Group focused on design services for clients in North Carolina, Virginia, and South Carolina. Because our backlog continues to grow, we are seeking an additional Plumbing / Fire Protection Engineer to join our Raleigh, NC office . As a Plumbing / Fire Protection Engineer, you will be responsible for providing technical guidance and training / mentoring. You will assist Project / Client Managers by providing technical guidance to help meet the clients desires and budget. You will collaborate with a team of engineers on a variety of projects. In addition to working with other Plumbing / Fire Protection engineers, you will team with electrical, mechanical, structural, and other disciplines to provide full-range services to our local and regional clients. In short, provide technical guidance associated with Plumbing / Fire Protection requirements to accomplish our commitments. You will report to the MEPS Plumbing / Fire Protection Department / Discipline Manager.

Responsibilities :

The Plumbing / Fire Protection Engineer would be expected to provide the following to others on the design team to effectively and successfully complete projects :

• Technical guidance and quality oversight, including code review, of all project work involving Plumbing / Fire Protection engineering.
• Technical training and development of staff.
• Assist in establishing and improving standards, practices, guidelines, and specifications for electrical discipline area.
• Engineer of Record.
• Provide 'on-the-spot' advice and decisions - technical and cost estimates.
• Coordination with all the disciplines involved, including outside consultants.
• Technical interface with code officials and contractors.
