POSITION SUMMARY / RESPONSIBILITIES
Provides leadership and direction for the Bexar County Hospital District Police Department / University Health Department of Protective Services function at designated facility(s). Oversees daily operations and is responsible for administrative and supervisory enforcement duties involving general and criminal regulations and institutional rules. Provides for the protection, safety and welfare of patients, visitors, staff, physicians and property within the areas under the control and jurisdiction of University Health. Promotes the University Health Guest Relations policy.
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE Associates or Bachelors degree in Criminal Justice or related field is required. 5 years of supervisory experience in a position of Sergeant or above may be used in lieu of college.. Successful completion of the Texas Peace Officer's Training course approved by the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE) is required. Advanced certification by TCOLE is required. Master's certification is preferred. . Police Officer supervisory experience in a hospital or ambulatory care service is preferred.
LICENSURE
A current license as a Texas Peace Officer is required. Must possess a valid Texas Drivers' License and clean driving record.
