Porter Manager will oversee service and sales porters by making appropriate schedule changes, serving as a prime contact for all porters, and keeping track of staffing movement between facilities.
REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or GED
Take accurate notes
Prior dealership / porter experience is required
Follow proper and explicit instructions
Professional appearance and disposition
Outstanding customer service skills
Strong communication skills; listening
Valid California driver’s license; insurable
Drive manual and automatic transmission
Use of hand tools and power washers
Productivity through time management skills
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Manage Porter staff, create schedules, report out-sick employees, incidents, or any other Porter staff communication
Keep accurate track of all showrooms, Porter equipment, and ordering supplies, i.e., wax, soap, rags, washers, vacuums, etc.
Make sure the internal monthly vehicle inventory scan is completed on the 1st day of each month. Sundays or Legal Holidays would be the only reason a full inventory scan cannot be completed on the 1st of each month, and care should be taken to complete the inventory scan the next possible business day
Drive and handle all vehicles responsibly and safely ensuring damage prevention and protection of O’GARA property
Assist with moving vehicles between display areas, service department, storage facilities, customer locations, and pickup points
Manage new / used vehicle inventory appearance and performance by ensuring the cleanliness of the interiors and exteriors
Understand automobiles sold by O’GARA by studying characteristics, capabilities, and features
Ensure vehicles have disposable seat covers, steering wheel covers, floor mats, and identification tags
Drive offsite for errands when required, including automobile deliveries and pickups, assisting with dealer trades, transporting customers, and other errands requested by management
Manage new / used vehicle showrooms, outdoor lots, and storage facilities neat and orderly
