ISO New England is the not-for-profit, independent system operator responsible for ensuring the safe and reliable flow of electricity in our region and planning for the future of the electric grid. We are at the forefront of New England's ongoing transition to clean energy.
ISO New England's Transmission Service Studies Engineer studies the addition of new solar, wind, storage, and other types of generation to the New England system. The position conducts and oversees the new resource interconnection engineering studies, transmission planning studies, simulation of power system behavior, analysis of results, and development of recommendations to ensure the continued reliability and economic efficiency of, and attainment of regional and national policy objectives for the New England power system in the longer term.

From Holyoke, MA, ISO New England oversees the 24 / 7 operation of the power grid that covers the six-states of New England and administers the region's multi-billion dollar "stock exchange" for the buying and selling of wholesale electricity.
