Overview

The Plant Engineer role at the Hebrew Home at Riverdale by RiverSpring Living, a world renowned long term care organization located in Riverdale - North Bronx, performs a variety of tasks to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the physical plant and building systems. The employee is responsible to ensure the continued operation of all the life safety systems.

Responsibilities

The Plant Engineer performs preventative maintenance and repairs tasks to the equipment in the physical plant. The employee is able to maintain the proper functionality of all critical systems in a healthcare facility. The employee maintains records and logbooks of the life safety systems and critical systems up to date as assigned and maintains, troubleshoots and repairs any air conditioning equipment that contains over 50 pounds of refrigerant and all the related appurtenances. In addition, the Plant Engineers perform the duties as designated by their certifications and assigned responsibilities.

Qualifications

Employee must possess a High school / G.E.D, or trade school diploma. Employee must be knowledgeable of the operation of HVAC systems, power plant operations, electrical distribution equipment, and plumbing systems. Employee must have a minimum of 5 years boiler operator experience; have familiarity with federal, state, and local codes and regulations regarding their field.

Engineers must have the following Certifications to be able to perform the base duties :

• FDNY Certificate of Fitness S-12 Citywide Sprinkler Systems
• FDNY Certificate of Fitness S-13 Citywide Standpipe Systems
• FDNY Certificate of Fitness S-95 Supervision of Fire Alarm Systems and Other Related Systems
• FDNY Certificate of Fitness G-71 Supervision of Piped Non-Flammable Medical Gases
• FDNY Certificate of Fitness G-29 Supervision of Piped Compressed Flammable Gas System (Citywide) - FDNY Certificate of Fitness G-91 Supervision of Natural Gas Co-Generation System Plant Engineers must have the following to perform specific duties :
• FDNY Certificate of Qualification for Refrigerating Systems Operating Engineer (2-01 or Q-99)

Compensation : $36.53 Hourly
