Plant Manager Metals USA is seeking a Plant Manager in Seekonk MA (Providence RI Suburb). Metals USA is a solid, growth oriented, carbon steel (plate, beam) distribution center servicing the defense, commercial, construction, aerospace and fabrication industries.The Plant Manager is responsible to manage and develop the front-line supervisors and hourly employees. The Plant Manager will execute production safety, housekeeping, recruitment, orientation and training of all new hires as well as on-going training and development of entire production workforce. The Plant Manager is responsible for ensuring a preventive maintenance program and warehouse functions comply with Metals USA and all regulatory agencies.Responsibilities : Initiates and executes production plan and process, clarifies and exceeds production goals. Creates production schedule and workflow duty assignments.Interacts with all departments to ensure optimal production and on-time delivery schedule.Recruits, hires, orient / trains and retains production front-line supervisors and employees. Leads an ongoing world-class production orientation program.Strives continually to improve manpower utilization to align with production process in order to positively impact revenue.Supervises the receipt of incoming material shipments, verifying that appropriate receipt and quality control inspections are completed in a timely manner and appropriate transactions are made to complete the receiving process.Ensures that materials in the warehouse are stored properly, inspected and processed via accepted material handling and warehousing principles. Supervises and participates in the physical inventory control process.Supervises staging of materials to support timely delivery of materials, prepare shipments of items as required and prepare materials for processing to scrap.Develops, implements and executes production tracking and quality control systems to analyze production quality control and capacity
