Our client, an advanced energy technology organization developing next-generation power generation systems, is looking for a Plant Integration Engineer – Steam and Power Systems Integration. This role supports the integration, oversight, and coordination of steam, power generation, heat transfer, thermal energy storage, and auxiliary plant systems. The successful candidate will lead cross-functional engineering integration efforts, working closely with design partners to ensure complex plant systems are developed, integrated, and delivered to project objectives.

Location: Bellevue, WA or United States (remote)
Duration: 12 Months
Compensation: $56 - $95 per hour.
Additional Compensation: This position is not eligible for bonus or incentive compensation.

Summary:
The Plant Integration Engineer will provide technical leadership for the integration of steam, power generation, heat transfer, thermal energy storage, and auxiliary plant systems. This role collaborates with multidisciplinary engineering teams and external design partners to coordinate system interfaces, review engineering deliverables, and ensure successful integration of complex plant systems in a first-of-a-kind engineering environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead integration and technical oversight of steam, power generation, heat transfer, thermal energy storage, and auxiliary plant systems.

• Coordinate cross-functional engineering teams to develop integrated system designs and resolve technical interface issues.

• Support development and integration of process systems and mechanical components within plant 3D models.

• Collaborate with engineering partners and external design firms to establish and manage interfaces between plant systems and structures.

• Review engineering deliverables for technical accuracy, completeness, and compliance with project requirements.

• Coordinate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to support integrated plant design and analysis activities.

• Communicate technical design information and integration status to engineering leadership, project stakeholders, and customers.

• Apply sound engineering judgment to resolve complex design challenges within a conceptual and first-of-a-kind engineering environment.

• Support adherence to quality management systems and engineering standards throughout project execution.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 10 years of design experience in nuclear power, commercial power generation, or adjacent process industries such as oil & gas, refining, or chemicals.

• Experience designing or integrating power generation systems, steam systems, or process fluid systems.

• Demonstrated leadership coordinating cross-functional engineering teams and driving design integration efforts.

• Broad technical engineering background with experience leading multidisciplinary design activities.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills, including experience presenting technical information to engineering teams, leadership, and customers.

• Ability to work effectively with geographically distributed and international engineering teams.

• Experience working in conceptual design and first-of-a-kind (FOAK) engineering environments.

• Experience working within quality management systems such as ASME NQA-1 or ISO 9001.

Nice to Have:

• Experience integrating Energy Island or balance-of-plant systems.

• Background supporting advanced reactor, conventional power generation, or other large capital engineering projects.

• Experience coordinating systems engineering activities across multiple engineering disciplines.

• Familiarity with engineering change management, design reviews, and configuration management processes.
