Job description
Mechanical Engineer – Licensed Professional Engineer
Austin, Texas Metroplex Area
50-$90 / hr
We are seeking a Licensed Mechanical Engineer with thorough experience in HVAC system design within the residential and multi-family industry, healthcare, municipal, or K-12. The Licensed Mechanical Engineer will bring a strong technical background, superb project management skill, and commitment to grow their skills.
Responsibilities :
- Design HVAC systems : heating, cooling, ventilation, and energy management systems
- Ensure all designs meet building codes and standards : IMC, ASHRAE, and local requirements
- Perform heating and cooling load calculations to size equipment and ductwork
- Ensure all design is in compliance with IECC or LEED
- Work closely with other disciplines, architects, and contractors to integrate mechanical systems
- Prepare detailed construction drawing, specifications, and equipment schedules using AutoCAD and Revit
- Oversee mechanical engineering within projects
- Communicate directly with clients to thoroughly understand project needs and provide expert guidance Qualifications :
- PE license
- 5+ years of experience in mechanical system design for commercial projects
- AutoCAD and Revit
- Familiarity with energy modeling
- LEED AP (preferred)
