A General Contractor doing business in all sectors of
commercial construction including : Medical facilities, Federal, local Municipal
construction, Distribution centers, Gas stations, industrial, retail, office, Military facilities,
Schools, Church, various other building disciplines.
We are seeking a dynamic Chief Financial Officer (CFO) with a strong background in a
hands-on leadership role. The successful candidate will lead our financial department, and
the company financial strategy reporting directly to the company CEO. This role requires
someone who can provide high-level financial oversight while also collaborating closely with
the Controller, Assistant Controller, and Project Administration Team to ensure financial
accuracy, efficiency, and compliance.
Job Summary
As CFO, you will be responsible for the overall financial health and strategy of the company.
This includes managing financial planning, risk management, accounting, and compliance while
ensuring that project financial tracking systems and reports are accurate and efficient. You will
work alongside and supplement the Controller and Assistant Controller, providing leadership and
strategic guidance to optimize financial processes and support business growth.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Financial Leadership
- Develop and implement financial strategies to drive profitability and long-term growth.
- Collaborate with the CEO and executive leadership to align financial planning with business goals.
- Evaluate and manage financial risks while ensuring the company’s financial stability.
- Oversee Cash flow including collections, payables and overhead
- WIP Job Costing & Project Financial Management
- Oversee WIP job costing, ensuring real-time accuracy in project financial tracking.
- Work closely with the project administration team to analyze job costs, forecasts, and margins.
- Ensure accurate revenue recognition and cost tracking for ongoing projects.
- Improve processes for budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting related to project accounting.
- Financial Planning & Analysis
- Lead financial modeling, budgeting, and forecasting to support strategic decision-making and reporting to the CEO.
- Provide financial insights to enhance cash flow, working capital, and profitability.
- Accounting & Compliance
- Oversee financial reporting, audits, and tax compliance to meet regulatory requirements.
- Ensure internal controls, policies, and procedures align with best practices and industry standards.
- Work in tandem with the Controller and Assistant Controller to maintain accurate financial records.
- Operational Leadership & Team Collaboration
- Provide leadership and mentorship to the finance team, ensuring strong cross- departmental collaboration.
- Work closely with operations, project managers, and executive leadership to align financial processes with business needs.
- Drive continuous improvement in financial workflows, systems, and technology.
- Oversee Controller, Assistant Controller, Project Administration team and reporting
- Review Analysis of monthly and yearen financial statements Legal issues
- Insurance issues and remewals
- Oversee information systems and software with controller, project administration and IT.
- Human resources with Controller.
- Cash, year end and tax planning
- Budgeting
- Controller, CA and office staff and Project administration job review.
- Maintain up to date tax compliance.
- Qualifications Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
- Proven experience in WIP job costing, project financial management, and revenue recognition.
- 5+ years of experience in a senior financial leadership role
- Strong knowledge of financial regulations, corporate finance, and risk management.
- Knowledge of timberline, sage intacct and sage cm software programs is PLUS
Experience working alongside controllers, accounting teams, and project Background
in construction, engineering, manufacturing, or similar project-based industries is
highly preferred.
