Specimen Processor – Full Time
Location : Tacoma
Hours : 6 : 00 p.m. - 2 : 30 a.m. M-F, occasional Saturdays / Sundays

For over 26 years, UWL has partnered with hospital systems nationwide to deliver comprehensive pre-analytical and post-analytical services, making us the most experienced operator of hospital-based outpatient lab programs in the country.
Position Summary :
We are seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Specimen Processor to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a foundational understanding of phlebotomy and / or laboratory processing, strong problem-solving skills, and a keen eye for accuracy. Basic computer proficiency and experience with Epic is required.
Key Responsibilities :
- Accurately process specimen requisitions, ensuring all patient and test information is complete and correct.
- Match test orders with appropriate specimens and label them according to established protocols.
- Prioritize and process STAT specimens promptly.
- Coordinate with lab personnel to resolve issues.
- Provide timely and courteous assistance to callers, delivering accurate information.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment, adhering to infection control standards and proper disposal procedures for specimens and contaminated materials.
