Assistant Director ProcurementDays - Full Time Broadmoor Campus

The Assistant Director of Spend Management is a strategic healthcare supply chain leader responsible for optimizing organizational spend, ensuring supply continuity, and driving operational excellence across Procurement, Consignment Operations, and Spend Management Resiliency programs. This role oversees sourcing and procurement activities, management of consignment inventory programs, and enterprise-wide resiliency initiatives designed to mitigate supply disruption risks. The Assistant Director partners closely with clinical, operational, finance, and executive leadership to achieve cost savings, improve supply availability, reduce inventory waste, and support high-quality patient care through effective spend management strategies. This position plays a critical role in developing and executing supply chain strategies that align with organizational goals while ensuring regulatory compliance and operational sustainability.

Responsibilities and Essential Job Functions

  • Must be able to perform the professional, clinical, and technical competencies of the assigned functional areas.
  • Responsible for the continued strategic and operational growth of all programs within their scope of responsibility while collaborating across business units (internal and external to health system) to process improve and maintain high patient safety standards.
  • Collaborates with Spend Management leadership to define and execute on the determined strategies for the timely acquisition of supplies and goods requested and required to consistently maintain normal operations for patient care and services.
  • Collaborates with system director and Spend Management physician champion on building/maintaining/enhancing a sustainable resiliency program (spend management and Pharmacy) to support health system operations and leaders during supply chain disruptions (Risk Assessment, Recovery Planning, Supplier Relationships, Inventory Management). This model should be scalable to the affiliate network and in collaboration with Pharmacy leadership.
  • Actively seeks opportunities to highlight and enhance current programs and support ongoing progressive fiscal sustainability for the system through participation in local, regional, national opportunities and membership in resiliency associations (i.e., HIRC).
  • Represents the health system across the region in bringing together suppliers and providers in establishing a shared ecosystem related to resiliency and procurement.
  • Continuously evaluates all business practices and processes to maximize operational efficiencies for all pillars under span of control.
  • Actively participates in leadership and mentoring programs for self and others.
  • Lead enterprise spend management resiliency strategies to minimize disruptions and ensure continuity of care.
  • Collaborate with clinical, emergency preparedness, logistics, and operational leadership teams to strengthen organizational readiness.
  • Direct the organization's consignment inventory program, including high-value physician preference items, implants/specialty products and tissue inventory.
  • Must be able to perform the professional, clinical and or technical competencies of the assigned unit or department.

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelors Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration or a related field of study from an accredited college or university.
  • 6 or more years of progressive healthcare supply chain, spend management, procurement or logistics experience.
  • 4 or more years of leadership experience managing teams and healthcare operations.
  • 3 or more years of experience overseeing procurement, sourcing, inventory operations, or related healthcare supply chain functions.
  • 3 or more years of demonstrated success in cost savings initiatives, supplier management, or operational improvement initiatives.

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Master's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration or a related field of study from an accredited college or university.
  • 7 or more years of experience developing supply chain risk management or resiliency strategies.

Knowledge Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of healthcare supply chain operations and spend management practices.
  • Strong financial acumen and analytical capabilities.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to influence decisions and build partnership across all levels of the organization.
  • Strong change management abilities.
