Job description

About Barkbus

Barkbus is the nation's premier mobile dog grooming company. We are dog-loving creatives and entrepreneurs using a tech-driven startup approach to disrupt and modernize the industry. Driven by our mission to bring convenience and luxury to pet parents, we're proud to have nearly 200 vans on the road in California, Arizona, Colorado, Texas, Georgia, North Carolina, and Virginia. We have no plans to slow down our expansion and would love for you to join us in building the next modern national pet brand!

About This Role

We are looking for a Manager, Fleet Procurement to oversee the end-to-end van procurement process, ensuring the timely acquisition, conversion, and onboarding of fleet vehicles. This role involves managing vendor relationships, collaborating cross-functionally on both new and used van acquisitions, and contributing to the long-term fleet growth strategy. You will also track fleet lifecycle and replacement needs, manage procurement strategies, and assist in supply and inventory logistics at various hubs to support Groomer Operations Managers.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Van Procurement & Vendor Management : Manage the van procurement process, working closely with vendors to ensure competitive pricing, high-quality service, and timely delivery of vehicles.
  • Supply & Inventory Management : Support Groomer Operations Managers (GOMs) by managing hub supply and inventory and ensuring the availability of necessary equipment for grooming operations.
  • Van Onboarding & Logistics : Ensure all new vans are properly converted, branded, and ready for deployment. Assist in administrative tasks related to van logistics, allocation, and onboarding.
  • Fleet Lifecycle Management : Track fleet replacement cycles and make data-driven decisions to support fleet lifecycle management, ensuring the fleet remains efficient and up-to-date.
  • Van Acquisition & Conversion : Collaborate with team members on both new and used van acquisitions, explore alternative conversion options, and oversee the conversion and branding process for new fleet additions.
  • Procurement Strategy & Future Growth : Develop and execute procurement strategies that align with the company’s growth plans and ensure the fleet can scale efficiently to meet demand.
  • Collaboration on Fleet Growth Strategy : Work closely with the Sr. Director to implement strategies that drive fleet growth, monitor fleet expansion plans, and ensure the procurement process supports business objectives.
  • Success for this role is ensuring the seamless acquisition of vans while nurturing strong relationships with key vendors and internal stakeholders while defining a fleet lifecycle that supports van utilization and revenue growth.

Who You Are

  • You are relentless. You have the determination and grit to keep working on a problem as new challenges emerge while maintaining the flexibility to adjust plans or strategies as needed.
  • No task is too big or too small. You don't hesitate to get in the weeds and work at the lowest level of detail, but you're just as comfortable thinking long-term and big-picture.
  • Thoughtful attention to detail. Every action you take is driven by a strategic plan that helps dictate your decisions.
  • Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain, or a related field preferred.
  • 4+ years of experience in procurement, supply chain management, or fleet operations.
  • Proven ability to manage vendor relationships and execute complex procurement strategies.
  • Experience with vehicle acquisition, fleet management, and vendor negotiations.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across departments and with external partners.
  • Proficiency in procurement management tools and fleet management software.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Compensation & Benefits

  • Base salary between $90,000 - $105,000 DOE
  • Stock options after required tenure
  • Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance
  • Retirement Savings Plan
  • Pet Insurance
  • Equal Opportunity

Barkbus is an equal-opportunity employer who celebrates diversity. Come as you are!
