Director Of Procurement

As the Director of Procurement, you will play a pivotal role in directing the procurement strategy for a division, ensuring it aligns seamlessly with our overarching company and district objectives. Develops and implements strategies for the Division wide procurement of subcontracts, materials and professional services.

Builds and implements effective organizational structures, guidelines, policies and procedures that align with Corporate Procurement policies.

Plans and identifies supply chain optimizations through cost savings and contractual risk transfer in subcontracts and major purchase orders.

Represents Company along with Corporate Procurement in establishing strategic business relationships with key suppliers, subcontractors and professional service providers.

Negotiates commercial terms and conditions with certain vendors and subcontractors; consult with corporate attorneys and senior management to minimize project and Division risk while maintaining commercial competitiveness.

Directs and coordinates activities of personnel engaged in buying and / or estimating materials, equipment, subcontract and professional services. Oversee division staff training and development.

Liaison between Division Procurement and Operations.

Assists in the development and implementation of procurement and contract management instructions, policies and procedures.

Provides feedback to assist in analyzing market and delivery systems to assess present and future material availability.

Communicates and enforces purchasing policies & procedures to project team.

Provides training to ensure policies and procedures be followed.

Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Civil Engineering, Construction Management or a related field required.

10+ years' experience in procurement in heavy-civil construction required.

Proficient in Microsoft Office (Power Point, Word, Excel) with general knowledge of database utilization.

Knowledge of procurement support processes within an Enterprise Resource Planning system (e.g. JDE, SAP,.)

Knowledge of the supply chain in Construction and Engineering projects (key trades, products, suppliers)

Effective time management and organizational skills.

Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to analyze complex data and drive business conclusions.

Team player with the ability to also work independently to meet fixed deadlines, goals and objectives.
