Company Overview
This organisation is a global leader in contract development and manufacturing for the animal health and pharmaceutical sectors. With operations spanning the US, Europe, and APAC, the company partners with some of the world's most recognised healthcare brands to bring complex products to market efficiently and compliantly. The business is underpinned by strong values, cross-functional collaboration, and an agile approach to customer delivery.
Role Summary
This is a senior-level procurement role responsible for managing sourcing strategies and supplier relationships across multiple US manufacturing sites. The successful candidate will take ownership of the procurement of direct materials—such as APIs, excipients, packaging, and consumables—and may expand into indirect and CapEx categories over time. With a strong focus on value generation, supplier performance, and continuity of supply, this role is critical to supporting production goals and the broader supply chain strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead procurement activities across assigned US sites, aligning local sourcing with global procurement strategies.
- Manage supplier relationships for raw materials, packaging, indirect services, and logistics providers.
- Negotiate contracts and commercial terms, driving cost savings, cash flow optimisation, and service improvement.
- Implement and maintain supplier KPIs, lead regular supplier reviews, and establish long-term strategic partnerships.
- Support and lead global sourcing projects and tenders, particularly for high-value or complex categories.
- Set inventory parameters (MOQ, lead times, safety stock) in collaboration with Supply Chain leadership to automate purchasing and reduce working capital.
- Identify and mitigate supply risks by qualifying alternate sources and leading contingency planning.
- Collaborate with Site GMs and Finance to contribute to budget planning and commercial strategies.
- Monitor and action material-related deviations, CAPAs, and material change controls.
- Contribute to the development of customer pricing models through accurate cost input and market insight.
- Ensure procurement compliance with FDA, GMP, and corporate quality standards.
