Job Description
The Procurement Specialist (PS) is responsible for managing inventory and replenishing laboratory and kit supplies. This role requires a comprehensive understanding of all CND supplies, along with the ability to develop both short- and long-term strategies to ensure quality, supply chain continuity and cost efficiency. The PS will utilize CND's procurement application and other software tools to monitor inventory levels and initiate restocking as needed. Key responsibilities include negotiating purchase agreements, managing vendor relationships, and identifying cost-savings opportunities. The PS must adhere to compliance standards, including CLIA, CAP, GMP and ISO. This role involves close collaboration with R&D, Laboratory Operations, and Clinical Services teams to support operational needs and manage materials. All work is conducted in alignment with standard laboratory procedures and policies.
Job Responsibilities :
- Oversee the procurement process for Syn-One and other CND test kits, as well as lab and indirect materials.
- Interface with suppliers to manage orders, supplies and material requirements.
- Ensure an adequate supply of reagents and materials for specimen processing, customer kit inventory, and other operational needs.
- Maintain precise records of supply orders and purchasing history.
- Ensure all purchased materials meet company specifications quality and standards.
- Collaborate with management to negotiate pricing, terms, and conditions, while identifying cost saving opportunities.
- Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies for critical materials.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers and vendors.
- Adhere to established purchasing and accounting policies in all procurement activities.
- Address inventory issues and coordinate solutions internally and externally.
- Ensure compliance with CLIA, CAP, GMP, and ISO standards.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
