Job descriptionTwo plus (2+) years of media / television / film production experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Bachelor's degree preferred.
Responsibilities
- Conducts in-depth research on cultural topics, historical events, and interview subjects.
- Assists in identifying and securing experts, contributors, and on-screen talent.
- Coordinates necessary filming logistics such as securing permits, releases, and other applicable permissions.
- Assists in booking contractors and production travel needs.
- Procures supplemental video and image content and secures appropriate licensing rights for use.
- Prepares and organizes production schedules, call sheets, and project outlines.
- Collaborates with producers, directors, and cinematographers to scout locations, develop shot lists, and create visual plans.
- Collaborates with producers and directors on set to ensure smooth production workflows.
- Oversees organization of shoot materials, such as scripts, shot lists, and release forms.
- Assists in capturing behind-the-scenes content for promotional use.
- Communicates with post-production to ensure media is properly ingested, logged, and organized.
- Collaborates with editors, producers, and directors during post-production to ensure creative vision is maintained.
- Collaborates with historical and cultural consultants to fact-check and verify information included in projects is culturally and historically accurate, appropriate, and authentic.
- Provides feedback on cuts and works with leadership to ensure production deadlines are met.
- Maintains clear communication with all team members and external collaborators.
- Assists with tracking project timelines and ensuring milestones are met.
- Contributes to multiple projects and leads certain processes as assigned without having direct supervisory responsibility.
- Work will be performed in a variety of settings, including climate-controlled office settings and / or outdoors in all types of weather including extreme conditions including, but not limited to, extreme cold or heat and snow.
- Work may require travel, including overnight stays.
- Work requires lifting objects up to 50 lbs.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned
