About Us

Chorus Innovations is a fast-growing healthcare technology company with an adaptive platform as a service (PaaS) that enables the rapid development of mobile, desktop, text messaging and interactive voice applications. Chorus' platform currently powers transformative healthcare, biomedical research and community health projects across institutions and public health agencies nationwide. We believe every community should have world-class health technology so they can thrive.

Our mission is to improve the lives of people and communities by democratizing technology development in health and research.

Principal Product Designer

Our design leadership team, with experience from organizations like Apple and Nike, brings a commitment to design excellence and innovation. Join us to shape the future of healthcare technology and make a meaningful impact on the world.

About the Role As a Principal Product Designer at Chorus, you will lead the charge in crafting visually stunning and highly intuitive user experiences that solve complex challenges in health at scale. This role requires a unique blend of strategic vision, systems thinking, and a passion for world-class visual design. As a key architect of the design strategy, you'll ensure cohesive, innovative solutions that resonate with users and deliver measurable impact across the organization.

Collaborating with cross-functional teams, you'll champion design excellence as both a critical function and a strategic advantage. Leveraging your deep understanding of complex systems and an eye for detail, you'll transform complex and confusing workflows into simple, elegant, and effective solutions that empower users and advance our mission.

What You'll Do

  • Design Strategy & Vision Define and drive the product design vision for high-impact initiatives, ensuring alignment with user needs and company goals. Advocate for design excellence across the organization, balancing business, technical, and customer perspectives.
  • Lead by Example Set the standard for design quality through hands-on contributions, including user flows, interaction models, wireframes, and visually compelling mockups. Serve as a champion for cohesive and inclusive design practices.
  • Collaboration & Partnership Build strong, trust-based relationships with product managers, engineers, researchers, and stakeholders. Lead discussions to align on goals, dependencies, and trade-offs. Partner with engineering to bring design concepts to life, maintaining quality and consistency.
  • Mentorship & Culture Inspire and mentor designers, fostering an environment of learning and creative exploration. Cultivate a culture of innovation, empathy, and inclusion that enables every team member to thrive and contribute their best work.
  • Design Leadership Advocate for user-centered design thinking and the role of design in achieving business outcomes. Act as a design system steward, guiding teams to maintain and evolve standards for visual, interaction, and accessibility excellence.
  • Storytelling & Influence Communicate compelling narratives that articulate the rationale behind design decisions, inspire stakeholders, and align cross-functional teams. Use data, customer insights, and prototypes to build alignment around shared goals.

What Makes You a Great Fit

  • Expertise in Craft & Strategy A strong product design portfolio showcasing end-to-end design solutions that blend user empathy with measurable business outcomes. Experience defining and driving design strategies for large-scale, complex products.
  • Creative Problem-Solving A love for untangling complexity, transforming ambiguity into actionable plans. You bring innovative ideas to the table and aren't afraid to challenge the status quo.
  • Influence & Leadership Proven ability to lead design initiatives, mentor peers, and inspire teams across disciplines. You thrive in environments where you can amplify the impact of your work through collaboration and influence.
  • Tools & Processes Proficient in design tools like Figma and adept at using research, testing, and analytics to inform and iterate on your designs. Bonus points for experience with motion, design systems, prototyping, and accessibility standards.
  • Customer-Centric Mindset You are passionate about understanding and solving user problems. Your designs are driven by research insights, market trends, and a desire to create equitable and delightful experiences for diverse audiences.
  • Who you Are

  • 12+ years of professional design experience, with at least 3 years leading or mentoring other designers.
  • Experience designing for web, mobile, or cross-platform ecosystems at scale.
  • Exceptional communication skills, with a knack for influencing executive stakeholders and rallying teams around a vision.
  • A growth mindset and the ability to adapt in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
  • Bonus points for experience working on PaaS or SaaS products.
  • Why You'll Love Working with Us

  • A mission-driven company - be part of a team that is helping to improve people's lives by democratizing technology development in health!
  • Full medical, dental, vision and life insurance benefits
  • 401K match
  • Company stock options
  • Unlimited paid vacation
  • Performance bonuses
  • Company support for career and skill development
  • Fun company events and outings
  • The anticipated base salary for this position is $195,000 to $215,000 based on the Los Angeles market. The base salary offered may vary depending on several factors, including the applicant's qualifications, relevant experience, specific skills, level of education, certifications, and the geographic location where the role will be performed.

Please note that the listed compensation details apply to the base salary only and do not include additional elements of the total compensation package, such as performance bonuses, stock options, or benefits.
