Description
The requirements for this role include :
Lead the development, implementation, and ongoing delivery of an enhanced ERM Framework across Americas business functions and for key regional initiatives; oversee the Americas regional portion of enterprise risk monitoring and reporting, including the progress of actions and proactive monitoring of early warning signals in the region.
Identify and analyze regional trends that may affect the CFA’s future strategic direction and underlying business model as part of the continuous review of the LT Risk Profile; monitor strategic market area risks in the region, including use of past data to determine leading indicators of significant market risks and assignment of monitoring, mitigation, and response strategies.
Deliver subject matter expertise related to risk support for key regional business initiatives, from early idea phase to execution to completion adopting a project risk analysis mindset.
Develop and deliver customized and fit-for-purpose training courses to grow the risk maturity of stakeholders and employees in the region.
Partner with a broad spectrum of internal stakeholders to facilitate risk identification assessments and provide recommendations on proportionate risk planning and risk-taking for the region. Work in close collaboration with business areas building local risk champions and advocates for risk management to assess new or shifting initiatives in the region for risk and help support informed decision making that align with the CFA Institute’s approach to ERM.
Employ country-specific strategies and risk analysis to optimize the ability for the organization to freely conduct its core activities in existing and potential Americas markets.
The skills and experience required for this role include :
10+ years of experience in a corporate environment, with at least 5 years of direct in Enterprise Risk Management, Operational Risk Management, Project Management or Strategic Planning roles
Membership of the Institute of Risk Management, GARP FRM, PMI-RMP or post-graduate degree in Risk Management preferred
Proven experience in facilitating risk meetings with leadership / senior management with impact and influence
Experience in risk analytics and / or quantitative risk analysis is seen as an advantage
Demonstrated integrity and ability to maintain principles under internal and / or external pressure
Qualitative experience in strategic planning and / or policy development at a senior level
Ability to anticipate, influence, and assist the organization to assess and rapidly adjust to changing conditions and trends (internal and external) of importance to the direction of the organization
Effectiveness in communicating recommended courses of action for innovative, business-oriented responses
Ability to maintain confidentiality with highly sensitive information with a high degree of professionalism
Global cultural orientation and working experience
Highly collaborative style; experienced in building strong relationships and influencing stakeholders at multiple levels. Ability to establish trust and strong rapport with CFA Institute leadership team, employees, and stakeholders
Must demonstrate outstanding judgment and mature business skills with the ability to establish a strong rapport with senior management, including reaching a satisfactory resolution without compromising on matters of principle or professional standards
Travel and physical requirements include :
Ability to travel to regional offices to conduct field work and training, as well as to collaborate with regional partners
Ability to be on-call to respond to emergency and / or evolving situations across the globe that may impact CFA Institute people, property, reputation, or other assets
Some global travel may be required, no more than 10%; travel is primarily expected in the region, with periodic travel to other company offices and conferences and events, including approved continuing education
