KEY RESPONSIBILITIES :
The Senior Product Metallurgist is a newly created role, ideally suited for someone who is results-driven, detail-oriented, customer-focused and enjoys a technical approach to problem-solving. The role of a Product Metallurgist at the Company is key in driving optimization and working alongside operators and operational leaders. This position touches all aspects of the plant facility and will play a vital supportive role in both production and commercial operations.
Specific responsibilities will include but not be limited to :
- Act as a product metallurgist, making grade or product recommendations to customers, and then optimizing the processing of those grades or products in the plant;
- Propose novel metallurgical solutions to new end-use applications in the aerospace, oil and gas, fuel cell, automotive and industrial markets;
- Act as technical liaison between sales, production, and the customer;
- Author technical reports on project-based work;
- Review customer requirements and determine compatibility with plant capabilities;
- Participate in customer trials;
- Develop novel applications and capabilities as needed;
- Assist sales in the development of new market opportunities;
- Perform metallurgical testing as required.
