Job Description

Job Description

Company Overview :

Lightspeed is a leading provider of cloud-based software for dealerships and Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs), serving the Powersport, Marine, RV, Trailer, Outdoor Power Equipment, and Golf Cart industries. Lightspeed's Dealer Management Solution (DMS) enables dealerships to optimize their end-to-end business operations, including sales, parts, service, rentals, accounting, and Customer Relationship Management (CRM). When implemented into their daily operations, Lightspeed helps dealers increase their profitability by selling more units, service, and parts, all while creating a more streamlined experience for customers. For nearly 40 years, Lightspeed has been empowering 4,500+ dealers across North America with the tools and technology they need to manage their dealerships.

We are looking for a Product Manager who is passionate about building software solutions that customers love. The role will bring voice of the customer into the business, assessing and prioritizing opportunities to enhance our software offerings and building or partnering for new offerings. The ideal candidate will be intellectually curious, adaptable, a strong communicator and doer, and lead with confidence. The Go-To-Market and Product Development environments at Lightspeed are dynamic and fast-paced, requiring Product Management to be excellent at enrolling and motivating other teams to deliver to their Product vision and strategy.

What you'll do :

  • Gain deep understanding of customer experience, identifying and filling product gaps and generating new ideas that grow market share, extend Lightspeed into new markets, improve customer experience and drive financial revenue and cost savings in the business
  • Create buy-in for the product vision, both with internal key stakeholders (Sales, Development, Customer Operations, Finance) and with external stakeholders (Customers, Partners, Manufacturers, and market influencers). Prioritize features and offerings, communicating the rationale behind the prioritization with key stakeholders.
  • Be an expert with respect to competition, developing product positioning, packaging, and pricing strategies that differentiate Lightspeed products and drive growth through Sales and Partner channels.
  • Provide direction to Development via user stories and epics, backlog grooming, sprint and release planning.
  • Create a continuous feedback look on products via utilization monitoring, pilot programs, Sales & Customer Operations feedback, and other practices that drive continuous improvement, adoption and growth of Lightspeed products.
  • Collaborate with Marketing to develop sales tools, collateral, promotional messaging and marketing campaign strategy.
  • Serve as SME for designated Products on calls with customers, via demos, at industry and partner events, and via educational programs with customers and the market.

What you should have :

Qualifications :

  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in product design, business management, or engineering (MBA preferred)
  • Exceptional writing and editing skills, combined with strong presentation and public speaking skills
  • Excellent teamwork skills and proven ability to influence cross-functionally and without form authority.
  • Adept at managing and maintaining strong relationships with critical cross-functional business partners and 3rd party partners.
  • Proven success overseeing in a nonmanagerial role all elements of the product and software development lifecycle
  • Familiarity with Agile framework and ability to effectively communicate complex processes within and across teams.
  • Track record of launching new products, driving excitement and executional excellence across all parts of the organization.
  • Attention to detail, organization planning, and documentation skills.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects in various stages simultaneously and make hard decisions to pivot on priorities as 'facts on the ground' dictate.
  • Preferred Qualifications :

  • Certification in one of the Product Management frameworks (e.g. Pragmatic)
  • 3+ years associated with the dealer management industry
  • Experience using Agile / Scrum methodology and / or workflow management tools for product development (Jira, Aha!, etc.)
  • Previous experience in Product Development or Product Marketing of a commercial software business.
  • Demonstrated experience achieving product goals and supporting company outcomes (e.g. revenue targets).
  • In today's competitive job market, transparency and trust are more important than ever. At Lightspeed, we believe in fostering an open and honest work environment, starting with our job postings. Pay transparency is a key component of this commitment, ensuring that potential candidates have a clear understanding of the compensation they can expect.

    Remote

    140,000—$170,000 USD
