Job description

PRODUCTION MANAGER

  • Prior Signage Industry experience is a must have

The Production Manager will organize and oversee all activities related to the fabrication, finishing and repair of interior and exterior signage. Previous sign experience is needed or an aptitude and work ethic to learn new concepts and industries quickly. This is a supervisory position that is responsible for managing fabricator, equipment operators, shop support staff, and the Quality Control Specialist.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The daily responsibilities for the Production Manager include but are not limited to the following.

  • Motivating, supporting, and providing guidance to department leads production staff
  • Managing production schedules, monitoring staff and equipment utilization,
  • communicating production timelines, and ensuring jobs and tasks are completed on time
  • Work with project managers and the director of operations to forecast 30, 60, and 90 day production schedules. Help in making in-out production decisions
  • Ensuring all safety and health standards are met to keep the production departments accident-free
  • Communicating regularly with upper management regarding problems and issues impacting production.
  • Evaluating machine resources to ensure continued production and minimal downtime
  • Work with design, fabrication, and installation teams to ensure the customer receives the
  • right products and services at the right time.
  • Establishing a balance between increased productivity and reduced cost of manufacturing operations
  • Setting productivity goals for fabrication departments / teams.
  • Developing workflow policies and procedures that improve efficiency without
  • compromising safety or quality
  • Ensuring adequate scheduling of staff
  • Order supplies and manage material inventory levels.

    • QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

    To perform this job successfully the Production Manager must operate with integrity and possess a strong work ethic.   • Strong production management skills required
  • Ability to work with all levels of management
  • Experience with all Microsoft products (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Ability to manage dispute resolution with coworkers, clients, and vendors
  • Exemplary analytical, verbal and written communication skills
  • Understanding of cost accounting principles and practices.
  • Previous signage fabrication and installation experience a plus
