Job descriptionMust be able to MIG weld steel, stainless steel, and aluminum. Preferably able to TIG weld steel, stainless steel, and aluminum in a production environment. Ability to read and interpret blueprints. Must pass a hands-on weld test and written knowledge test. Strong manual dexterity and effective communication with team members. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Flexibility to work in other shop areas as needed. Willingness to work overtime as scheduled by management. Minimum 1 year welding experience. Minimum 1 year in a manufacturing environment. High school diploma or equivalent required. NIMS (National Institute for Metalworking Skills) certification preferred.
Job Title : Weld Fabricator
Pay Range : $20 - $28 per hour (based on experience)
Shift : 2nd Shift | 2 : 00 PM - 10 : 00 PM
Job Summary :
We are seeking an experienced Weld Fabricator to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will have proven experience in MIG and TIG welding with the ability to work on steel, stainless steel, aluminum, and other alloys. This role involves fabricating, welding, inspecting, and finishing metal products while maintaining high standards of quality and safety.
Key Responsibilities :
- Perform MIG and TIG welding on aluminum, stainless steel, mild steel, and other alloys.
- Use straightedges, calipers, rulers, and combination squares to measure and verify accuracy.
- Clamp, tack, bend, grind, or bolt parts into position for welding.
- Operate welding equipment and robotic weld cells.
- Apply knowledge of metallurgy, geometry, and welding techniques to ensure quality welds.
- Monitor fitting and welding processes to prevent overheating, warping, or distortion.
- Analyze blueprints, specifications, sketches, and work orders to plan welding operations.
- Complete product inspection sheets and maintain accurate job records.
- Detect faulty equipment or materials and notify supervisors.
- Perform grinding / metal finishing to remove excess welds, slag, or spatter to ensure parts are paint-ready.
- Verify finished work quality and prepare proper tagging and quantities for each job.
- Move materials between work areas using hand jacks.
- Maintain a clean work area and equipment.
- Follow all company safety policies and use proper protective equipment.
- Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor or Lead.
