POSITION : HEAD START PROGRAM PRESCHOOL TEACHER ASSISTANT
LOCATIONS :
- Colonel Zubkoff- 55 NW 199th street
When : Daytime, Monday thru Friday, 40 hours per week, hours are 7 : 30am to 4 : 00pm, school year only
New Rate of Pay : $17.91 per hour this school year
Responsible for assisting Head Start classroom teachers in the care and development of children enrolled in an early childhood education center as well as maintenance of the classroom. Hours vary based on an as-needed basis.
Assists in planning and teaching activities within the YWCA's developmentally appropriate framework to encourage the advancement of children's cognitive, social / emotional, physical and creative skills.

Requirements (describe the educational and skill requirements) :
High diploma or GED required, CDA / FCCPC childcare certification required. Associate's in Early Childhood Education a definite plus. One or two years of experience working with preschool children in a child care facility preferred, preferably in a Head Start program. DCF Child Care 45 hour childcare training in addition to VPK courses and 15 hours of continuing education each year thereafter; however, the YWCA reserves the right to increase hours of training annually. Red Cross First Aid certificate; certificate of good health and completed TB test. Required to have fingerprint and background check level 2, and drug test.
FCCPC Birth - Five or CDA certification in Pre-school required
