The Department of Pathology & Laboratory Medicine at UC Irvine Health School of Medicine is dedicated to the diagnosis and understanding of human diseases through biomedical and clinical research. The department's research programs are located in laboratories at UC Irvine Medical Center and on the Irvine campus. They are supported by funding from the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and other extramural sources.
Your Role on the Team
Applies knowledge about curriculum, requirements and educational activities to coordinate professional health education programs. Coordinates and maintains program operations, which may include teaching and learning activities, program curriculum, learner scheduling, maintaining databases, tracking learner compliance, and program accreditation.
The candidate will be responsible for administration, coordination and support of Graduate Medical Education (GME) and / or non GME programs for Residents and Fellows for the Pathology & Laboratory Medicine department. Management of the all ACGME-accredited programs by ensuring that annual requirements are met, educational activities which support the curriculum are maintained, and supports all Residents / Fellows. Demonstrate initiative to improve quality and customer service by striving to exceed Resident / Fellow expectations. Contribute to positive team goals and coordination improvement. Serve as Residency / Fellowship program liaison with the GME office and various other agencies, organizations, and groups. Prepare a variety of documentation associated with program operations; distributes documentation or retains records as appropriate. Maintain computerized and hard-copy files of program records. Ultimate authority for program documentation compliance resides with the training PD / APD. Any responses submitted to ACGME, must be approved by the PD and GME leadership as appropriate. Develop processes to improve task efficiency by standardizing formats for routine correspondence and identify areas for improved efficiency. Incumbent may support more than one Resident / Fellow program with a large number of participants with complex program requirements. The incumbent may oversee and perform the following essential functions for Fellowship programs as well. Will be responsible for the direct supervision of the Fellowship Coordinator personnel. Serve as a resource to the Chair, Chief Administrative Officer, and department faculty and staff on administrative matters regarding Graduate Medical Education & fellowship programs.

- Thorough knowledge of administrative analysis and operations research. Demonstrated ability to develop and implement processes and systems. Thorough knowledge of the administrative and operational implications in a program.
- Excellent organizational skills, analytical, and demonstrated attention to detail. Ability to complete work and meet established deadlines in an accurate and timely manner, and to manage short and competing deadlines.
