DEPARTMENT OVERVIEW :

The Recovery and Wellness Services (RWS) Department at La Familia consists of four distinct programs that provide substance use treatment services in Alameda County. These programs are : 1) El Chante Men's Residential Treatment Program 2) Si Se Puede Adult Outpatient Treatment Program; 3) Women's Services Enhancement Perinatal Treatment Program for Adult Women and 4) Youth for Change - an outpatient treatment program for youth 11-21 years of age. Our programs are contracted with Alameda County Behavioral Health Services (ACBHS), to provide DMC-ODS services for MediCal beneficiaries. Services include individual and group counseling, family therapy, case management and care coordination, crisis intervention, and community outreach.

POSITION OVERVIEW

Youth for Change is seeking a Program Supervisor who works in collaboration with the Department leadership to provide oversight and support to all staff within the program including but not limited to : conducting individual and group meetings, supporting with training and quality assurance processes, upholding accountability towards team productivity standards, providing feedback on program matters to program leadership, and maintaining knowledge on regulatory and treatment standards. The role of the Youth For Change Program Supervisor will require working closely with local schools, Alameda County Juvenile Justice Center and Juvenile Probation Department.

This position will report to the Director of Recovery and Wellness. This is a full time 37.5 hour per week position. Program hours are 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday; occasional weekend availability for special events is expected. This program provides services at partner sites and local schools in Oakland and Alameda. The candidate must be available for travel to the partner sites at minimum 30% of the time. This position will support the RWS leadership, LPHA / Clinical Supervisor and may hold a small caseload as assigned by the Director.

This role will uphold and champion the agency's mission, vision, and values and contribute to a collaborative and inclusive work culture.

La Familia offers a recruitment bonus for any Behavioral Health or Substance Use Disorder programs and positions that require occupational licenses or certifications are eligible. This bonus is paid throughout your first year of continued employment in increments of $500 at 30 days, $500 at 6 months and $1,000 at year one.

Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities :

Program Leadership and Standards :

  • Facilitate, lead and plan for weekly staff meetings and case conferences in collaboration with clinical supervisor and / or at the direction of Department leadership.
  • Provide oversight and direct supervision for direct service and administrative staff. This includes offering timely feedback to support growth opportunities and staff development.
  • Participate in recruitment, hiring, onboarding, conducting performance evaluations, disciplining and terminations in collaboration with Department leadership.
  • Provide regular informal and formal feedback (in addition to organizationally-determined formalized feedback processes) to ensure that all staff continue to develop professionally over time.
  • Review and approve timesheets and time off requests for supervised staff.
  • Establish and track performance expectations for all staff members, most notably hours of billable services, documentation standards, and quality clinical interventions. Also collaborate to develop, maintain, and verify quality standards for the program in collaboration with La Familia's Quality Assurance Department.
  • Responsible for completing all required reports, both internal and external, in a timely manner.
  • Tracking and regularly reporting on key metrics in all operational and program specific areas is required.
  • Regularly update the program manual to ensure most accurate and up to date program information is maintained at all times.
  • Ensure the site is clean, in good repair or "audit ready" at all times, and report any maintenance related issues immediately.
  • Support department leadership by actively collaborating in preparing for site visits, audits, certification and licensing applications and renewals and other administrative responsibilities towards the program.

Clinical Oversight Responsibilities :

  • Support each team member in achieving established monthly productivity goals through weekly meetings for reviewing caseloads, successes and barriers to effective client engagement.
  • Ensure each staff member is knowledgeable of established guidelines around documentation and service delivery.
  • Support Department leadership and / or Clinical Supervisor with review of clinical documentation, timeliness of progress notes, supporting with establishing medical necessity, and reviewing ASAMs and treatment plans in Clinician's Gateway.
  • Prepare, participate and collaborate with other departments in internal and external audits.
  • Partner with the QA department to design, develop and implement an effective CQRT process for maintaining clinical quality standards at all times.
  • Community Relations

  • Actively collaborate, build and maintain community relationships with schools, Juvenile Justice Center, and other community-based organizations to ensure a steady inflow of referrals.
  • Be available to partner and increase presence at the Juvenile Juvenile Justice Center.
  • Attend all COST meetings at each school site contracted through Alameda County.
  • Develop and implement outreach strategies with support of department director geared towards youth programming.
  • Plan and participate in outreach and networking events to promote services in the community. .
  • Lead and collaborate on special projects related to the success of the Youth for Change Substance Use Disorder program.
  • Staff Training

  • Oversee initial onboarding of new staff, including support in completion of all assigned on the job training (OJT).
  • Ensure new staff are completing all required trainings within defined timelines as required by contract ACBH.
  • In collaboration with program leadership and / or clinical supervisor, identify training needs and develop, edit, implement and / or design trainings on a variety of topics to enhance service delivery, engagement and participation in the program.
  • Track all completed staff trainings and be able to produce records as requested by funders and leadership.
  • Support placement of Graduate Trainees within programs in collaboration with the Multicultural Psychotherapy Training Institute, as appropriate.

  • QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE :

  • REQUIRED Drug and Alcohol Certification (must be either a "CADC" from CCAPP, or "CATC" from CAADE, please list this designation and number clearly after candidate name on resume / C.V.). Licensed or those in the licensure track (AMFT / ASW / APCC with active registration with BBS) highly desired.
  • Bilingual Spanish / English is preferred but not required;
  • Demonstrate knowledge of Substance Use Disorders and their treatment using various, evidence-based approaches.
  • Knowledge of alcohol and drug prevention and recovery / treatment programs and principles;
  • Knowledge of the effects of alcohol and drug use on brain, body and behavior;
  • Knowledge of evidence-based practices for SUD treatment including Trauma-Informed Care, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Relapse Prevention, Harm Reduction, and Psychoeducation highly desired but not required.

    QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE :

  • Be a Certified Drug and Alcohol Counselor with an accredited body in order to sign off on all notes registered staff notes and supervision logs for those needing hours approved to become certified.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of Substance Use Disorders and their treatment using various, evidence-based approached.
  • Have knowledge of the Alameda County Organized Delivery System or similar system(s).
  • Familiarity with Alameda County's use of Clinician's Gateway and / or InSYST preferred.
