A private organization in California is currently seeking a new Controller for a promising opportunity with their growing team. In this role, the Controller will be responsible for overseeing the finance and accounting operations for the organization.
Responsibilities :
The Controller will :
Prepare / review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reporting
Prepare / review audit schedules, tax reports, financial information, KPI's, budgets, etc.
Provide internal and external financial analysis and reporting as needed - capital expenditures, cost / benefit projects, ROI analysis, special projects, and recommendations
Manage the capital request and budgeting processes
Assist in overall treasury management
Prepare cash projections, manage cash flow planning process, and ensure funds availability
Oversee long-term budgetary planning and cost management in alignment with the strategic plan
Develop business plans and forecasts in collaboration with senior leadership
Oversee budgeting and the implementation of budgets to monitor progress and present operational metrics internally and externally
Assist in cash management and ensure compliance with the board approved investment policy and investment of short-term funds in accordance with established guidelines and practices
Oversee accounting staff to ensure proper maintenance of all accounting systems and functions
Perform other duties, as needed Qualifications :
5+ years of progressive Finance experience
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Economics, & Finance
Proficient in Database and Accounting computer application systems
Microsoft Excel proficient
Solid analytical and problem solving skills
Great interpersonal skills
Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
Strong attention to detail
Highly organized Desired Skills :
Auditing background
Experience with Nonprofit sectors, Educational entities and / or independent schools
Auditing background
Experience with Blackbaud financial management software
