This is a FLSA exempt, full-time position with benefits.Depending on the area of assignment, reviews private development, civil infrastructure, and capital improvement plans to ensure compliance with City ordinances and Engineering design standards. Performs project management for private development review projects. Provides customer service to residents, business owners, developers, and engineers. Manage complex and multi-disciplinary activities and projects, including development projects. Assists with the City's current and long-range utility and infrastructure planning efforts. Essential Functions Supports development by reviewing and approving preliminary and final construction plans and technical reports for compliance with City design and construction standards and engineering principles. Construction Plans and technical reports are often reviewed to support the land entitlement process. Manages and reviews required land acquisitions, easements, abandonments, plats, and similar, and utility design
development projects with local, state and federal agencies as needed. May be required to coordinate and manage the work of outside consultants.Implements division policies and guidelines, updates and revises engineering design guidelines and construction specifications. Identifies and processes easement and Right-of-Way (ROW) acquisitions for developers and City projects.Provides customer service by responding to various concerns and complaints from residents and local business owners, provides information or recommendations as needed and provides general information to developers and engineers.Performs project management and administration of development review projects by managing the project review timeframe, preparing review comments, preparing review fees, and coordinating with other city departments. Coordinates with the applicant on design submittals and review comments.Prepares council reports and may provide presentations for projects. Minimum QualificationsBachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or Construction Management. Work requires broad knowledge in a general professional or technical field.Five (5) years of progressively responsible project management and civil engineering, civil plan review and / or design experience.Arizona Professional Engineering License required within twelve (12) months of hire. Valid Arizona Driver's License.
