Associate Director, Project Management
The Associate Director of Project Management will spearhead the launch of a new Project Management Office (PMO) within ASUEP and will take charge of managing a portfolio of high-priority projects. This is an exciting new role designed for a strategic thinker and a skilled, experienced project manager who can lead cross-functional initiatives while establishing and standardizing project management practices within the organization. The role will provide primary support to the Data, Technology, and Operations portfolio within ASUEP, and will provide supplemental support to other units within the ASUEP collaborative.
What you'll do
- Lead and manage a diverse portfolio of concurrent projects, prioritizing those with high strategic importance that span multiple business units
- Ensure the successful execution of high-profile, mission critical projects by applying project management best practices and methodologies
- Implement and lead a standardized project management process for the Data, Technology, and Operations portfolio using Agile methodology; lead project meetings such as planning sessions, demos, and retros
- Design and implement standardized project management processes, tools, and templates (e.g. PM toolkit) that can be adopted by other units within the organization to streamline project execution and ensure consistency across business units
- Provide training and ongoing support to teams, ensuring they understand and adhere to the common PM standards and have access to the necessary tools
- Evaluate, select, implement, and administrate project management and knowledge management tools, such as Wrike, Jira, Confluence, and SharePoint, to enhance collaboration and project tracking
- Develop and implement strategies to increase awareness of ongoing projects and initiatives across different teams, contribute to a robust knowledge management strategy (e.g., newsletters, wiki buildouts), and drive a culture of project management across the organization and its affiliates
- Produce, maintain, and manage a repository of project management documentation, templates, and tools to support consistent and efficient project execution across the organization
- Hires, motivates, develops, and retains a high-performance team
- Supervise and mentor project management staff, ensuring they are effectively supporting project management activities and developing their skills
- Collaborate closely with other departments and stakeholders to drive projects forward, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives.
